R&D Labs

ELANTAS PDG, Inc. conducts research across a wide variety of chemistries including: polyester, polyurethane, epoxy, polybutadiene, polyamideimide, polyimide, polyvinyl formamide, acrylics, rubbers, phenolics and others. Our research is divided into short-term and long-term projects to meet your needs today and tomorrow.

Material Testing

ELANTAS PDG, Inc. conducts a variety of long- and short-term tests for resins and magnet wire, such as listed in the chart below.

ELECTRICALMECHANICALTHERMAL ENDURANCE

EPDG is focused on both low voltage and high voltage testing. High voltage testing includes the manufacturing and processing of mica taped bars, tip-up measurements and dielectric breakdown measurements.

In addition to the tests listed above, EPDG’s testing labs participate in UL’s Third Party Test Data Program (TPTDP). This program allows the lab to perform testing for EPDG and others without UL witnesses. The scope includes the following:

UL 1446UL 746BUL 94
Electrical Insulations systemsDielectric strength aging of plasticsVertical flame testing
Varnish/resin agingTensile strength aging of plasticsHorizontal flame testing
Chemical Compatibility TestingFlexural strength aging of plasticsThin material flame testing
